Build a crypto staking yield tracker in Google Sheets

Combine entered staking rates with CryptoTrackPro price formulas to estimate token rewards and their value in a portfolio sheet.

What matters here
  1. A staking tracker should keep APY separate from the live market price.
  2. At a constant price and APY, daily reward value is an estimate, not guaranteed income.
  3. CryptoTrackPro fetches crypto prices; staking rates must be entered and updated separately.

A staking tracker needs two inputs that change on different schedules: the amount of each asset staked and its annual percentage yield (APY). To estimate the value of rewards, it also needs a market price. CryptoTrackPro can fetch that price in Google Sheets; it does not supply staking rates. Enter those yourself and update them when the network or staking provider changes its published rate.

This distinction matters. A sheet can show a current market price alongside an APY you entered earlier, but that does not make the yield itself live or guaranteed. Treat the result as a projection built from the assumptions on the sheet.

Set up the columns

Create a new Google Sheet with one row per staked asset. Use these headings in row 1:

  • A: Asset — for example, ETH or SOL.
  • B: Staked units — the amount you currently have staked.
  • C: APY — enter the rate as a percentage, such as 4.5%.
  • D: Price (USD) — the current market price per token.
  • E: Estimated daily rewards (tokens).
  • F: Estimated daily reward value (USD).
  • G: Estimated annual reward value (USD).

Keep the source and date of each APY near the table, either in a note or in additional columns. Rates can vary. A remembered figure is easy to mistake for a current one.

Fetch the market price

Install the CryptoTrackPro Google Sheets add-on and connect it by opening it from the Extensions menu. In D2, enter a formula for the asset in that row. For ETH, use =cryptotrackpro("ETH-USD"). Replace ETH with the relevant ticker for each row. The formula fetches a USD price without an API key. Copy the formula down and change the pair for each asset.

CryptoTrackPro sources cryptocurrency prices from CoinMarketCap and supports more than 10,000 cryptocurrencies. The formula returns a price, not a staking rate. To update prices, use the add-on's Refresh All Prices action. Refresh timing and daily limits depend on the plan, so do not read a sheet refresh as a promise of a tick-by-tick quote. The practical choices are covered in this guide to spreadsheet refresh rates.

Calculate a daily projection

Enter this in E2 to estimate daily token rewards from an APY, assuming the rate compounds evenly through the year:

=B2*((1+C2)^(1/365)-1)

Format C as a percentage before entering rates. For example, enter 4.5% as 4.5%, not 4.5. The formula converts the annual effective rate to an approximate daily rate, then applies it to the staked balance. It is a planning estimate. Actual reward timing and compounding depend on the staking arrangement.

In F2, calculate the daily value at the current price with =E2*D2. In G2, estimate annual reward value at that same price with =B2*C2*D2. This annual figure uses the entered APY and today’s price; it is not a forecast of the value rewards will have when received.

Copy E2:G2 down for each asset. At the bottom of column F, use =SUM(F2:F) for the combined estimated daily reward value. Use =SUM(G2:G) for the corresponding annual estimate. Check that each row has a balance, a rate, and a valid price formula before relying on the totals.

Keep the assumptions visible

APY may change, while token prices move independently. If you update a rate, record when you did so. If your staking arrangement quotes APR rather than APY, do not enter it as APY without accounting for how rewards are compounded. The formulas above assume an effective annual rate and an even daily accrual for estimation.

The sheet also leaves out fees, taxes, lockups, validator performance, reward changes, and any difference between the quoted rate and the rate you actually receive. It values projected rewards at the current price, so the dollar total can rise or fall even if the number of tokens earned is unchanged. Use it to compare assumptions and monitor a portfolio, not as a promise of cash flow.

For a compact tracker, keep the rate, its source date, and the latest price beside each balance. That makes the most important limitation visible: CryptoTrackPro updates the price side of the calculation, while you remain responsible for the yield input.
